From the past few days, there was some buzz about the sequel of the movie “Life In a Metro”. There was some speculation that Kareena Kapoor Khan and Arjun Kapoor were approached for this movie, but according to the recent report Arjun Kapoor turned down Anurag’s movie Life In a Metro because of the date clashes. According to recent news, Rajkumar Rao who seems to be going places will be cast for this film.
Anurag Basu is impressed with the Rao’s acting skills and it seems to be that this is the reason why his name is coming at the top for the cast. It is also to be noted that Rao also has many films in hand as of now. Besides Stree which features him opposite Shraddha Kapoor, the actor will also be seen in films like Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga with Sonam Kapoor which is in the pipeline for release after this. The actor will also star in Mental Hai Kya opposite Kangana Ranaut and followed by that he has also signed films like Made In China. Keeping his busy schedule in mind, it seems to be difficult to release this film next year. Other star casts are still not finalized even the script is in its initial stage.
Everyone was assuming that “Life In a Metro” would be the third collaboration of Anurag Basu and Ranbir Kapoor but in one of the interview, Anurag said that “Ranbir is teaming up with me as a producer. Though I may want him to play a pivotal role in the film, I don’t know whether he would be interested. He will always have the first right of refusal”. Life in a Metro that released in 2007 was a multi starrer featuring Shilpa Shetty, Kay Kay Menon, Konkana Sen Sharma, Kangana Ranaut, Sharman Joshi, Shiney Ahuja, Dharmender Irrfan Khan among others. The film deals with the hectic life of a metro and the complicated web of relationships. In the season of the sequel this movie also reserved its seat. Already many directors are planning to make the sequel from Rakesh Roshan who is planning to make the 4th installment of Krish to the Prabhu Deva who would direct the 3rd installment of Dabangg. Let’s see how these talented people are going to portray the film on 70mm.
