Style stitch


Embroidery is everywhere this season. Use needle work to add a dose of glamour to the ordinary.

Whether its shirts, denims, coats, Bags or even boots and caps, the stitch is back in style. Embroidery brings a life to the outfits.

Indian designers like Varun Bahl, Anita Dongre among others are adding more trends with jeweled tones and designs. Amit Aggarwal used contemporary zardozi embroidery restoring some vintage weaves. Designer Narendra Kumar used embroidery in greens, blues and reds giving a distinctly Indian flavor to his western outfits.

 

There is an ample scope for creativity in Embroidery. Flowers are the real classic hit this season, beaded flowers for a 3 dimensional look that works for all outfits, whether you are off to work, Casual wear, date night or catching up with a friend.

Quirky pin badges which were used in 80’s are seeing a huge a revival on Jackets, patchwork denims and even bags. Kamakshi Kaul, gives a tip to add some embroidered pins to your J  ackets, bags, T-Shirts or jeans. “Its an easy, cheap and fun way to add personality to the outline.” She adds.

Just Try-out

Denims: Add a faded denim jacket with embroidered motifs over denim pants or a cotton dress

Crisp Shirt: For a classic combination with a twist, marry a crisp shirt with a pair of embroidered high waist shorts in suede. Keep the rest simple.

Embroidered Jackets: Man can follow the trend by sporting an embroidered jacket with fitted pants for a special occasion, of course.

Lehengas and Blouses: This season, sport lehengas with embroidered sheer crop blouses.

Sari state: Let your blouse give an interesting visual touch to your six-yard wonder.
