Just sitting by the rain, seeing the raindrops fall from the infinite sky to the floor, on the road, and on your bare feet, the sound of the rain, that earthy smell, those tiny droplets or those big ones, oh how we love this season! Dancing in the rain, or just sitting in the balcony with some pakodas and tea, or a warm cup of coffee, with your favourite book, we know that sounds mesmerising. The onset of the Indian monsoon is an entirely sensory experience. But is the joy of bathing in the rain taken away by those skin woes? Don’t worry, we got your back.

And then, whenever you go to cherish the rain, don’t forget those water-proof creams, or sunscreens. Don’t have one, no worries. Use some coconut oil instead.

3. Avoid going directly in the rain if you’ve just gotten your skin waxed or shaved. This makes your skin prone to bacteria.
4. Take a bath with normal water immediately after bathing in the rain.
5. Don’t skip up on moisturiser later on.
Cleanse, tone, moisturise. Always.
Avoid using make up during these days. Let your skin breathe. Your make-up may get washed away any time and ruin the day. Makeup must be the last thing you should consider wearing during the rainy season.
Don’t forget to use sunscreen. You are always prone to these rays even during the showers. It’s even better if you use waterproof sunscreen.
Wash your hair thoroughly too after that.
Drink loads and loads of water to keep your skin hydrated.
For your particular skin type needs, here are some tips:-
For oily skin
Rinse your skin with hot water, which helps in washing away the oils.
Use scrubs and masks to get away with that oil, but still keep the skin hydrated.
Go all natural. Use homemade stuff for your skin rather than those harsh chemicals.
For dry skin
Keep your skin moisturised, always. Avoid using alcohol based products.
Stay hydrated.
Use cold water to rinse your skin.
Use rose-water, glycerine, and honey.
Rain might dry out your skin further. Make sure to use moisturiser before and after bathing.
For combination skin types
Moisturise always
Keep in mind the regions of the different skin types and cater to each region accordingly.
You know your skin is prone to bacteria and fungi when it’s wet. Take good care.
