The director of some contemporary romantic movies like Mujhse Dosti Karogi, Fanaa, Hum Tum and many more, Kunal Kohli is experimenting his hand in the new venture and that is mythology. On 16th August Kunal announced his next movie “Ram Yug” which will be an adaptation of epic Ramayana on his twitter account where he tweeted, “#RamYug my next film. Need your Love, blessings & support.” With the poster of the film. There were rumors that Kunal Kohli with Aamir Khan is planning to make a mythological film “Mahabharat” of 1000cr in five-part but now it seems to be that Kunal is planning to introduce his movie “RamvYug” before Mahabharat.
The film is penned by veteran screenwriter Kamlesh Pandey who has films like Tezaab, Chalbaaz and Rang De Basanti. Kunal is planning to introduce some new faces through this movie as in one of the interview he said, “I have found the actors. The cast is ready and soon I’ll be making that announcement. I didn’t consider any of the people I worked with. I wanted to make it with fresh faces,” Ram Yug is expected to go on floor this year. Although further details on the logistics etc. are yet to be made by Kohli, we hear that the director-producer is keen on releasing the film in 2019.
Last year Kunal Kohli debuted in the cinematic world through Phir Se movie with Jennifer Winget also made clear that he wouldn’t be acting in this film. Narendra Kohli a Hindi writer and a Padam Shree awardee as a consultant for this movie so that again Kunal won’t land into trouble as it happened in 2006 for movie Fanaa. We have already seen Ramayana on television and even on 70mm and we are going to witness that story again on the screen let’s see how it is being different from other movies. Posters are looking promising which create a lot of expectation for this movie. New faces plus a renowned script writer I believe that this film is going to bring freshness and little different from other films that has already been produced.
