These days every actor is experimenting, the way Ranveer Singh does with his dresses, Akshay Kumar with his look and Abhishek Bachchan with his films. Abhishek Bachchan is all set for his digital debut. He has signed Amazon’s Breathe 2 helmed by Vikram Malhotra’s production Abundantia Entertainment. The earlier season starred R Madhavan, Amit Sadh, Neena Kulkarni and Sapna Pabbi in important roles. The theme of that series was – how far can one go to protect his love. Two desperate and driven men must engage in the ultimate cat and mouse game to save the one they love. Till now only Abhishek Bachchan has been finalized for the second season of Breathe web series.
Abhishek Bachchan made a comeback with movie Manmarziyaan after the span of two years. People loved his performance in the movie which was released on 14th September 2018 where he played the character of Robbie, who is an introvert. He has also signed another project with Anurag Kashyap called “Gulab Jamun” where he is reuniting with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan after eight years. Last time they shared the screen for Mani Ratnam movie Raavan which failed to impress the audience and hence, failed at box office. There were also some rumours that Abhishek is slated to play the male lead in a Sanjay Leela Bhansali production which is a biographical film about the love story of poet Sahir Ludhianvi and author Amrita Pritam. If reports are to be believed then Alia Bhatt has been approached for the role of Amrita Pritam.
The digital platform is a trendy platform where every actor wants to try. We aren’t too surprised that Abhishek Bachchan has jumped on this bandwagon himself. There are many actors who tried in this platform and like, Saif Ali Khan, R Madhvan, Vivek Oberoi and now Abhishek Bachchan who may be motivated after the success of their web series on the digital platform.
